District Instructor Angela Fallon's Profile

Hi, my name is Angela Fallon and I am a Master Grade Teacher 2nd Teng Chi with East West Taoist Association.  I have been practicing Tai Chi for 13 years and started training with the Lee Family Arts travelling to Hull for courses.  After leaving the LFA I looked around at other Lee Style Associations and travelled monthly to Coventry to train with the Taoist Cultural Arts Association.    I eventually found the right balance in a learning environment here at East West Taoist Association and I continue to travel to Scarborough on a monthly basis to benefit from Howard Gibbon’s knowledge and expertise.   This regular training helps me continue my development and gives me an opportunity to train with skilled students and teachers from other parts of the country

In the past, I lived and worked in SE Asia for 5 years, teaching English and studying Mandarin Chinese. I was introduced to Tai Chi, Taoist Yoga and Taoist healing techniques but I think my passion for these arts started in childhood: I grew up with ‘Kung Fu’, ‘Monkey’ ‘The Water Margin’ and ‘Hong Kong Phooey!’ When I was in primary school, I remember a teacher came to our school and demonstrated the graceful art of calligraphy. It was tremendously beautiful and had us all captivated. I still have that passion for the Taoist Arts and hope my enthusiasm comes across in class.

I am married to an Artist and we both feel blessed to be doing what we love.   To pay the bills we have other jobs. I work for the University of Edinburgh, School of Geosciences.

Personal Profile For Istructor Rea Cris

I qualified as a T’ai Chi teacher in 2010 with the East West Taoist Association.  I started practicing T’ai Chi in 2006 with Angela Fallon and continue to train with Angela and Howard Gibbon to develop my skills and understanding of the arts.  It is a pleasure and a humbling honour to be a T’ai Chi teacher and have the chance to pass on the art.  Teaching T’ai Chi is about helping others help themselves and with my classes I hope to offer my community a chance to improve their health and well being.

Even as a teenager, I always wanted to learn T’ai Chi and have always had a passion and fascination for the East. When I finally got around to finding a class, it felt very natural and instinctive; as if I was coming back home and I know I will be practicing T’ai Chi for the rest of my life. In 2008 I got the chance to visit China and would love to return and hop over to Japan as well.

I grew up in Greece and came to the UK to study and fell in love with Scotland (and I really don’t mind the weather!). I have a masters degree in art history, but my other passion in life is the environment and I have the incredible luck to have a job I love. I’m an administrator for an environmental organization and I also have an e. co-blog
